Praise for the writings of Diane Papalia Zappa

“Diane’s deep understanding of psychology as well as the trauma of her devastating loss make her uniquely qualified to offer this book to those of us who are struggling with grief. The Dear Bobby section brought me to tears!”

- Leela P., Executive Director Young Performers International

“In her new book, Dear Bobby: My Grief Journey Diane offers a light for a dark place.

How does one nourish a grieving soul? Is there a way to continue to stand strong and honor that love after your loved one has departed? There is hope, and this book is a powerful reminder, that, even in the most desperate of circumstances, one is not alone.

Simply put, this is another work of true beauty from a brilliant writer.”

- Scott Parker, Host, Zappacast, The official Frank Zappa Podcast

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful and important book. This follow-up to Diane’s memoir The Married Widow, Dear Bobby is an incredibly beautiful book, and an incredibly important read for anybody who is trying to find comfort after the loss of their most loved one. Taken together, these two books delve deep into the grief journey, from the lowest of lows back to the light. VERY highly recommended. - Scott P.

“For anyone who is grieving the loss of a spouse, “Dear Bobby: My Grief Journey” is a comforting read that includes a multitude of valuable resources for support. Like spending time with a trusted friend, Diane’s “Dear Bobby” letters help to lessen the agonizing feeling that we are alone in our grief.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious love story.

“What a wonderful love story. Diane allows us in to see the passion and beauty of their love and then let's us see it continue after Bob's death. I could not put it down and would love her to write a sequel in five years. I am sure the beauty of the writing and the feelings about their life together and apart will be the same. How lucky she was to find a love like theirs.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful read.

“Diane's book, "The Married Widow: My Journey with Bob Zappa", conveys her powerful and loving story, of two people meant to be together. It's an engaging tale of love and friendship, which, over time, evolves into more than just a marriage. She doesn't waste words and she never lost my interest. I wonder how many of us will ever find a love like theirs. I too am a widow, and there are so many times that I feel my late husband is with me physically. I'm looking forward to her next book, "Dear Bobby: My Grief Journey". She says her new book is for anyone who is grieving the loss of a spouse, and is a comforting read that includes a multitude of valuable resources for support.”

5.0 out of 5 stars A triumph of the heart I have read the book two times. Personally, I think it should be required reading for anyone who doubts the existence of an all-encompassing love and believes that love must be subject to reason and logic. Diane manages to capture what love truly is and express it in her own experience. I also think the book should be required reading for anyone who is tempted to "settle" for what is merely an acceptable relationship. Diane's writing lights the proverbial path to what is real, and if I may use the term, what everlasting love is and it is not merely a convenient meeting on Tinder. Diane's book is a triumph of the heart!- Ellen
